L19 1421 Austria 17 Accelerated increase of renewable energy sources in transport Verstärkter Einsatz von Biokraftstoffen im Verkehr / Umsetzung RED III Single The objecive of the meaure is the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive (Directive (EU) 2023/2413 ( RED III)). The energy target for 2030 according to the RED III directive is modeled at 29% (energy content), considering electricity for road and other land transport, as well as the current biofuel blending. The sub-target of 5.5% is modeled with 1% RFNBOs and 4.5% advanced biofuels (added to the current biofuels). National Mandatory share of minimum 29% (energy content) in final energy consumption in transport until 2030. Related Planned 2025 The WAM24-NEKP scenario was completed in July 2024 and is based on the WEM23 scenario, not the WEM25 scenario (which is described in this report). The cut-off date for policies and measures in scenario WEM23 is January 1, 2022. All reduction effects for 1A3 Transport and NRMM calculated in scenario WAM24-NEKP result from a comparison with the status quo as at January 1, 2022.
The cut-off date for the current WEM25 is June 30, 2024. Due to the later cut-off date, several policies and measures that were originally part of WAM24-NEKP have now come into force and are now part of the WEM25 scenario. For this reason, only the policies and measures that go beyond the policies and measures of the WEM25 scenario are listed in this chapter. In addition, no effects on GHG reduction are indicated, as the WEM25 scenario and the WAM24-NEKP have two different starting situations. L21 1421 Austria 19 Further promotion of active mobility and mobility management Attraktivierung des Teilens von Fahrzeugen und Mitfahren sowie intensivierte Förderung von Fuß- und Radverkehr Single The WAM includes further improvements in the area of active mobility as well as measures to increase the attractiveness of car sharing and car-pooling services. These lead to a reduction in the number of car journeys and an increased shift to walking and cycling. The three pull elements of this measure are
? Expansion of infrastructure for walking and cycling,
? Implementation of an attractive nationwide car-sharing scheme
? Promotion of car-pooling on the way to work
These three elements are accompanied by measures in the area of mobility management.
