During 2023, the competent courts (the Courts of Appeal and the High Court of Cas- sation and Justice) had a total number of 575 cases on their docket, whose subject was the legal verifications and due diligence procedure applied to N.C.C.D.’s decisions adopted pursuant to art. 20 of G.O. No. 137/2000, republished. Following the legal verifications and due diligence procedure applied to N.C.C.D.’s decisions during 2023, the courts ruled in favour of the Council during the first in- stance and/or appeal phase of the proceedings in 180 cases, while in 63 cases the proceedings brought against these decisions were admitted.
